Decks Built Around Your Yard and How You’ll Use Them

Decks · Stairs · Landings · Railings

A deck is shaped by the ground it sits on and the door it connects to. Before materials, it helps to talk through the slope of the yard, where the stairs should land, and how much space you actually want. Maple Ridge Builders will walk the site with you, put the structure and the finish in writing, and build the deck to match.

Repair the Deck You Have, or Build the One You Want?

Soft boards, a loose railing, or movement underfoot each point somewhere different. Sometimes the fix is limited to the surface. Sometimes the framing below is the real question. We look at the structure before recommending the right next step.

A Repair May Be Enough

  • A few soft or split deck boards
  • A loose railing or handrail
  • Stairs that have settled
  • Framing still sound underneath

A Rebuild May Make More Sense

  • Movement or bounce underfoot
  • Weathered posts, beams, or joists
  • Rot where the deck meets the house
  • A deck nearing the end of its service life
  • You want a different size or layout

Composite Decks Built for Less Upkeep

Maple Ridge Builders builds composite decks and railings for homeowners who want the outdoor space without the yearly sanding and sealing.

The surface is what you see, but the posts, beams, and connections underneath carry it. On a new build we get the framing right before anything is decked over, and your proposal will describe the structure, not only the finish.

Frequently asked questions

Deck questions, answered.

Have something else in mind? Let’s talk about your project.

Do you build new decks, or only repair existing ones?

Both. We build new decks, stairs, and landings, and we take on repairs and rebuilds of existing structures. Which makes sense depends on the condition of the current framing and what you want from the space.

Should I choose pressure-treated wood or composite?

It depends on how you weigh appearance, upkeep, and budget. Pressure-treated wood is a familiar, practical option that needs periodic sealing. Composite products cost more up front and are usually chosen to cut down on maintenance. We’ll compare specific products during the estimate.

Can you replace the deck boards and keep the framing?

Sometimes. It depends on the condition of the posts, beams, and joists underneath. We look at the framing before recommending a surface-only replacement, because new boards over tired framing is not a lasting result.

Do you handle permits?

Permit requirements vary by county and by the scope of the project. We’ll discuss what your project is likely to involve and what we handle before work begins.

Do you offer free deck estimates?

Yes. Use the form on this page or call (828) 989-7729. We’ll walk the site with you and put a written scope together.

What warranties are available?

Maple Ridge Builders provides a workmanship warranty for qualifying installation work, with project-specific written terms. Product warranties on composite decking and railings come from the manufacturer and depend on the materials installed. We’ll review what applies to your deck before work begins.
